Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir, under the direction of Joe Buffaloe, fills the choir loft of the sanctuary each Sunday during the 11am service. The choir is responsible for leading the congregation in singing the great hymns of the faith and for performing offerings of special music during worship. Ranging from gospels to the classics, the Chancel Choir offers a broad repertory of praise.
Other services during the year utilizing the talents of the Chancel Choir are: A Service of Nine Lessons and Carols; the Hanging of the Greens; and a Service of Tenebrae. At many of these special services, as well as throughout the year, the Chancel Choir is accompanied by piano, organ and orchestra.
Membership in the Chancel Choir is voluntary and open to all adults, with no auditions necessary. Rehearsals are held each Wednesday at 7:15pm. Sunday mornings the group gathers in the Choir Room for a run-through of the music and prayer before the worship service begins.
